Aftern the india-pakistan war he and his family migrated to Pakistan and undergo financial adversity. For this needs, he commence working in a bicycle shop and later he turn out to be a car and diesel tractor mechanic. Despite of this destitution, his passion on music didn't set apart of practice on a daily basis. It is his prayer on music and patience that sent him towards the success He is unanimously accknokledged as the finest ghazal singer, in sooth of all time.His outstanding vocal range and mastery over difficult raags degnify him the accredited monarch of ghazals. His fame continued over five decades and makes him on par with Noor Jehan in the league of the greatest Pakistani singers of all time. The undispute compliment to his greatness was from the eternal nightingale, Lata Mangeshkar, who compared his songs to the "voice of god" . He received numerous awards and recognitions: the Tamgha-i-Imtiaz granted to him by Gen Ayub Khan; the Pride of Performance bestowed on him by Gen Ziaul Haq; and the Hilal-i-Imtiaz conferred by Gen Pervez Musharraf. Off late, he travelled to Dubai to receive yet another award. we hope this legacy will continue in the days to come.
