Bhoomi Is a calcutta's popluar band thatformed in 1999. Bhoomi means 'Earth' in Prakrit. They actually established with focuse on Folk music. They have a rural touch in their music and singing. The band used urban version of Baul music as well as old folk music that has been lost or many do not heard. They bring those song into the light. One of their main inspirations behind their music is everyday city life, which they experience and which is experienced by so many people everywhere. Their current line-up includes 6 band members - Soumitro Ray, Surajit Chatterjee, Sanjoy Mukherjee, Hemanta Goswami, Abhijeet Ghosh, Robin Lai.

They played both urban & rural audiences and even sometime they play to small crowds of village in front of paddy fields.

I listen sometime yes, they are really good. So guys listen their music you may like.
