Nusrat Fateh Ali Khanis one of the greatest singer in the history of Qawwali. He born in Faisalabad October 13,1948 and died in August 16,1997. He was a Pakistani musician, mainly known as a Qawwali singer. He acknowledged with the "Asian Hero” in 2006 by the Time magazine. Nusrat was called The Emperor of Qawwali.Nusrat began his career by learning to play tabla along with his father. And later he began to learn Raag Vidya and Bolbandish and some periods later he learns classical. His first public performance comes to Radio Pakistan. He was not only known in subcontinent, he was renowned all over the world. He sang in many languages like, Urdu, Hindi, Punjabi, Persian etc. In the Western he was introduced by United Kingdom. He captivates the western audience with couple of fusion produced by Michael Brook. Later in 1995, he collaborated with Eddie Vedder on the soundtrack to Dead Man Walking as well as the Last temptation of Christ and natural born killers or friendship that stimulate his popularity in all over the audiences. He provided his vocal to The prayer cycle. However, he holds the 125 albums of Qawwali in according to Guinness book and that is world record by itself.
